Retail Ops, Analyst II - Billing

The Billing Analyst II, Retail Operations will be responsible for, but not limited to, learning, and supporting the products we sell, applicable tax rules, regulatory compliance requirements, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns that impact billing accuracy. The Billing Analyst will be exposed to and expected to contribute to key billing functions within independent and cross functional team projects. The analyst role should be capable of working with our third-party vendors, both independently and in a team, environment as needed, to provide best in class customer service for our internal and external customers.
This position sits in Houston, TX eligible for a hybrid in-office and work-from-home work schedule, and reports to the Manager, Retail Ops Billing.
What you’ll do:
- Manage all retail invoicing and validation aspects for ENGIE’s Retail C&I (Commercial & Industries) customers
- Function as the main point of contact to research and resolve billing disputes and provide timely resolution on any issues
- Deliver complete, accurate analysis on complex issues and propose appropriate course of action to the impacted internal and external parties
- Apply business judgement in dealing with customer issues, billing problems, and data requests
- Develop strategic data analysis in support of operations and quality improvement initiatives
- Implement new measures to improve quality control process for outgoing invoices
- Monitor changes to billing determinants and incorporate into billing process
- Research and correct discrepancies between our internal data warehouse and external billing system
- Provide data collection and reporting assistance during internal and external audits
- Maintain open lines of communication with Compliance group to assure all Business Control regulatory and internal requirements are met
- Provide cross-functional support to peers and departments to develop satisfactory end-to-end delivery processes
- Assist manager on various projects that involve system enhancements, product development, and market changes
- Achieve excellence by delivering on key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Train new team members and constantly review the training materials to ensure these documents are updated and relevant
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- High school degree or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a minimum six (6) years of directly relevant billing or business experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum 2 years Direct billing experience
- Billing experience in multiple markets preferred (ERCOT, PJM, NEPOOL, NYISO)
- Experience with SQL, macros, MS Access preferred
- Strong knowledge of retail energy operations, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Independent thinker
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and strong follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- High degree of reliability and strong ethics
- Productive and efficient, with fast turn-around
- Ability to use multiple data systems
- Collaborator with ability to work well with others
- Advanced PC skills, including MS Office Suite
- Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements

- Salary Range: USD $44,455.00-$114,010.00 annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan
