The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia and in the US. GEMS manages the B2B supply business within ENGIE, including supply contracts and Power Purchase Agreements.
Real Time Optimization Manager will support the implementation of real-time dispatch strategies for optimizing a portfolio of ENGIE and third party owned generation assets, monitoring plants and grid conditions, and manage a team supporting dispatch activities.
This position is located in Houston, TX and reports to Vice President, Asset Manager.

What you’ll do:
- Manage real time dispatch desk and its personnel, ensuring appropriate actions are taken by the desk in compliance with Market rules and ISO procedures.
- Responsible for implementation of asset dispatch strategies for optimizing ENGIE’s portfolio of generating assets.
- Support on-boarding of new facilities, including training of any new procedures for desk and set up of tools required by the desk.
- Develop and maintain desk procedures and protocols.
- Coordinate training and certifications for desk personnel.
- Coordinate shift schedules and coverage.
- Coordinate on-boarding and training of new desk personnel.
- Support the setup and maintenance of Real Time Dispatch facilities and the Disaster Recovery site, ensuring appropriate and effective setup and resource availability.
- Act as a team member with all employees of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America staff.
- Comply with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 7 years of energy experience in Real Time Operations optimizing generating assets or Power Plant Operations, previous direct experience working in ERCOT, PJM, or other ISO markets
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
- Willingness and ability to obtain PJM or NERC certification.
- Understanding of power markets and ISO rules is required.
- Must possess strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Adapts to working in a constantly changing environment, bidding strategies, unit commitment strategies

- Salary Range: $114,135 - $ 175,812, annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
