What You Can Expect

As the Project Manager, Advisor, based in Houston, TX you will plan and lead projects using a multi-disciplinary team to design, construct, and place into operation Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities. The Project Manager will use their independent judgment and interpersonal skills to deliver projects that meet the business case requirements and achieve the approved investment goals. The Project Manager takes full accountability to deliver assigned projects within scope, schedule, and budget including taking preemptive and corrective actions as required.  The Project Manager will also routinely report on project progress to executive management, forecast project outcomes, and control and solicit approval of changes to the project’s scope, schedule, and budget.

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Project Delivery, your primary duties encompass:

  • Provides project management for projects in development through construction
  • Prepares a delivery plan (including schedule) for specific projects considering safety, health, environmental, permit, commercial, design, contracting and construction requirements
  • Implements and tracks the project contracting strategy with the support of the Contract Management team
  • Creates and tracks the project budget to enable accurate cost tracking and forecasting of project costs
  • Ensures that all ENGIE safety requirements are properly included in project documents, plans, and practices. Leads and exhibits a high level of safety awareness and concern
  • Manages all project stakeholder communications and requirements including periodic reporting and change management and communication
  • Reviews and approves all project invoices and expenses, complying with Company policy, to assure contract payments are processed for timely payment with proper cost account coding
  • Monitors project cash flow requirements to properly schedule project funding requirements for internal or third-party financial participation
  • Measures project performance against the baseline quality, cost, and schedule in order to forecast the final project result each month
  • Measures project performance relying on KPI’s for engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and start-up to report monthly, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to achieve project objectives
  • Controls the project scope and delivery plan developing appropriate change requests for approval by applicable stakeholders
  • Closes all supplier contracts associated with the project delivery including settlement of claims with support from assigned Contract Management staff
  • Prepares a final Lessons Learned report as a reference document for future projects
  • Carries out other duties as assigned

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related technical discipline required
  • Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience which includes seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in physical/construction project management
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage and lead multi-discipline teams
  • The ability to be flexible and adjust to changing business and project conditions, develop and present alternative solutions to problems, and recommend a course of action to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget
  • A solid competency in project risk assessment and mitigation planning
  • The ability to accurately gather and use project performance data to forecast project results using the principles of earned value analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, and Procore, demonstrating an excellent command of these tools for effective project management

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically to project sites, involving remote work from base location and occasional overnight stays up to 50-75% of the time
  • An ability to exhibit flexibility which may require late night and/or weekend attention and/or short notice travel to address project related issues
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400 – $196,765 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
