Perform structuring and pricing of complex power and gas transactions for ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA), with a focus on renewables. Develop fundamental and financial models to price market risk in the U.S. power and gas markets. Support traders and originators during negotiations. Propose management strategies for the existing portfolio of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA).

 

This position is located in Houston, TX and reports to the Vice President of Structure Power Orinination.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Perform structuring and pricing of complex power and gas transactions Apply knowledge in power market, understanding of renewable asset operation and data mining methods to develop fundamental views on the evolution of energy market in a high renewable environment.
  • Develop pricing model to value various risks in renewable energy off-taking transactions.
  • Structure hedging products tailored to client’s need and ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA)’s risk appetite.
  • Develop fundamental models to price market risk in Texas and Easternpower markets
  • Develop models to price traditional products in power markets such as Tolling Agreement and Heat Rate Call Options.
  • Structure and value Asset Management Agreement and Capacity Release deals for pipeline and storage assets. Facilitate the RFP process with gas producers, LDC’s and other energy companies.
  • Price customized renewable off-take deals
  • Perform fundamental analysis in power markets to understand the dynamics in demand, supply and infrastructure.
  • Support traders and originators during negotiations
  • Perform pricing on request, provide analysis and assist in the negotiations of structured transactions
  • Propose management strategies for the existing portfolio of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA)
  • Develop and propose new ideas to manage risks in the existing portfolio of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA), in order to reduce risk and/or improve return

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Math/Physics/Economics/Finance/Statistics is preferred
  • MS/ME or MBA in Finance and/or CFA is preferred
  • An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline and/or MBA is highly preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in related field is required. Preference in energy industry
  • Extensive knowledge in US natural gas and power markets. In-depth understanding of structured energy commodity transactions, particularly in the renewables markets
  • Ability to interpret complexity in contracts, tariffs, regulations, market rules.
  • Ability to grasp power plant operations concepts and understand their implication in commercial transactions.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as demonstrated expertise in developing Excel-based pricing models
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated spirit with creative and inquisitive mindset.

  • Salary Range: $92,395 - $236,600, annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
