What You Can Expect
As a Utility Scale Resource Assessment Intern for grid-scale renewable energy at ENGIE North America, you will assist with the resource assessment capabilities of our wind, solar, and battery storage project development platforms. You will work directly with ENGIE resource assessment professionals to support our growing portfolio of grid-scale projects across North America.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Gain valuable resource assessment and data management skills
- Gain exposure to current renewable energy policies
- Develop an understanding of wind and solar project development
You will support resource engineering by conducting large spatial and temporal data analytics and monitoring the health of meteorological towers.
What You’ll Bring
- Must be at least a junior or senior (by the end of the spring semester) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, working toward a bachelor’s degree in science, atmospheric science, physics, engineering, math, computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python scripting
- Experience in wind and solar resource data processing
- Experience with Windographer, Openwind, and Pvsyst
- Proficiency in MS Excel macros and VBA scripting
- Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
Additional Details
- The internship work term will be from June 2, 2025, to August 22, 2025, and with the ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week for the Summer Intern session
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $24.00 - $34.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
