What You Can Expect

As our Gas Trading Analyst, Intern, you will get the opportunity to gain enterprise-level hands-on experience while receiving valuable exposure to energy trading and commercial analysis. The intern will work closely with traders, analysts, and commercial teams to optimize trading strategies, develop data-driven insights, and support real-time decision-making. The internship work term will be from May 2025 – August 2025, full-time work schedule working 40 hours per week.

 

  • Gain hands on experience to conduct in-depth research on natural gas and energy market trends, pipeline and storage constraints.
  • Assist in analyzing pipeline flow patterns and identifying system optimization opportunities
  • Evaluate upstream and downstream outages and regional market impacts to anticipate price fluctuations
  • Automate Excel-based reports to track inventory levels, pipeline schedules, and storage utilization
  • Develop forecasting models based on historical gas storage and weather data to predict pricing trends
  • Analyze and consolidate market data to enhance the accuracy of commercial decisions

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You must be at least a junior or senior by the end of the Spring 2025 semester, working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • You have experience in Excel (VBA), Python, Java, or RStudio
  • You are knowledgeable in analytical and problem-solving techniques, with a strong ability to interpret complex data
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • You possess a passion for the energy industry and a genuine interest in contributing to the energy transition

 

 

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office if you are based in Houston, TX
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

 

 

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $21.00 - $34.00 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
