What You Can Expect

As a Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Administrator, you will be responsible for GIS programming, web development, database and server management for the GIS team. The GIS team is responsible for providing mapping, geospatial analysis, and database management support for ENGIE North America’s Grid-Scale Renewables greenfielding, development, construction, and operations teams. You will work closely with the GIS Development Advisor to maintain and improve a robust Esri Enterprise environment in support of ENGIE’s ambitious megawatt development goals.

 

Programming

  • Write code and automate redundant GIS processes to increase team efficiency
  • Create GIS software extensions, web applications, and geoprocessing tools
  • Train GIS teammates on utilizing and adapting scripts
  • Develop innovative workflows to offer spatial data-related support to colleagues within greenfielding, development, delivery, and operations teams

 

Web Development

  • Develop new geospatial tools and dashboards to assist with mapping, GIS analysis, and grid-scale energy project development
  • Coordinate with other members of the GIS team and internal user groups to identify, develop, and deploy custom widgets and applications
  • Support the migration of existing web applications from Esri’s Web App Builder to Experience Builder

 

Database and Server Management

  • Support the GIS Development Advisor in managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the existing GIS platform
  • Advise on and help roll out standardized archiving procedures
  • Support the development and implementation of a standardized data model
  • Adopt and reinforce high quality metadata tracking.
  • Provide recommendations for optimization of spatial database structure and management

 

Cartography and Spatial Analysis (depending on candidate’s interest and background)

  • Provide mapping support for all wind, solar, and battery storage project development activities.
  • Run buildable area models for wind, solar, and battery storage preliminary site development and to confirm compliance at later stages.
  • Work with project developers and land agents in coordination of land acquisition and wind turbine, solar array, and battery storage siting efforts.
  • Provide insight, feedback, reporting, analysis, and decision-support skills to the project team using geospatial tools.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of five (5) years of applied experience
  • Bachelor's degree in which you completed courses in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, ReactJs, .NET C#, Python, SQL, HTML
  • Ability to develop custom ArcGIS Pro tools using C# ArcGIS Runtime SDK, Python
  • Experience developing, building and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience managing GIS servers, databases, and associated infrastructure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to shift focus quickly and efficiently between varying priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively manage projects
  • Interest and willingness to assist with non-GIS related activities.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Web AppBuilder for Developers and ArcGIS Experience Builder a plus

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • There may be opportunities to engage in geospatial analysis, reporting, and map production in addition to GIS platform administration responsibilities, if interested

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,000 – $128,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
