This position will support a range of pre-construction development, engineering, and energy market activities on projects within ENGIE North America’s (ENA) portfolio of utility-scale renewable assets across the United States.  You will work on discrete tasks as an important member of Transmission and Interconnection team to support renewable development efforts in the US.  Specific area of emphasis would be grid interconnection as well as other aspects of renewable energy development to fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America.


This position will preferably sit in Houston, TX or Denver, CO and it is eligible to work in many locations across the United States. The position reports to the Director of Transmission and Interconnection.


What you’ll do:

  • Become a subject matter expert in transmission and interconnection planning, power system modeling and analysis within Independent System Operators (ISO) or specific utilities such as but not limited to PJM, CAISO, WECC or SERC utilities
  • Manage and track project interconnection requests with Regional Transmission Organizations and utilities
  • Prepare Interconnection Application packages, perform power system modeling/planning studies, study report reviews and other tasks associated with the queue positions.
  • Coordinate with consultants and internal staff for engineering support of project interconnection requests
  • Maintain schedules and project databases of interconnection progress.
  • Engage utilities in negotiation of interconnection agreements, project scheduling, and interconnection site acquisition activities
  • Stay abreast of new project interconnection requirements, industry developments, technologies, etc.
  • Embody company in industry advocacy groups
  • Remain well-informed of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of Renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers
  • Support development activities of utility-scale Renewable energy projects from feasibility to the start of construction
  • Carry out other duties as assigned


What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, a focus in Sciences or Engineering is required
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience is required; renewable energy is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Detail-oriented who will work proactively to pursue required information
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks
  • Capability of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with Regional Transmission Organizations and other external parties
  • Knowledge of Power Systems, Power Grid preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power System Analysis tools preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Result-oriented with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups
  • Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

  • Salary Range: $105,910 - $270,530, annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
