Your Job functions

       As a Senior General Manager - Project Manager cum Hydraulics Expert for our Hydropower Product, you will be responsible for leading and managing hydropower and water resource projects from conceptualization through detailed engineering and execution support. The role combines project management responsibilities with advanced hydraulic engineering expertise, ensuring successful delivery of projects related to dams, barrages, hydropower plants, spillways, river engineering works, water conveyance systems, and associated hydraulic structures. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to strategic business growth initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management & Leadership

• Lead and manage complex hydropower and water resources projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Plan and monitor project execution activities and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Manage project risks, resource allocation, project schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
• Act as the primary interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure successful delivery of projects in line with contractual commitments and company objectives.

2. Hydraulic Engineering & Technical Expertise

• Provide technical leadership in hydraulic design and analysis of dams, spillways, barrages, intake structures, river diversion systems, headrace tunnels, surge shafts, canals, and power waterways.
• Review and approve hydraulic calculations, design reports, modelling studies, and engineering deliverables.
• Undertake hydraulic assessments related to flood routing, energy dissipation, sediment management, and flow optimization.
• Support feasibility studies, detailed project reports, tender engineering, and owner’s engineering assignments.
• Ensure compliance with applicable design codes, international standards, and client specifications.

3. Coordination & Engineering Management

• Coordinate closely with civil, structural, geotechnical, electromechanical, and environmental specialists.
• Facilitate design reviews and interdisciplinary technical discussions.
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are implemented throughout project execution.
• Monitor engineering progress and resolve technical issues affecting project delivery.

4. Business Development & Client Engagement

• Support proposal preparation, technical bid submissions, and project presentations.
• Participate in client meetings, technical negotiations, and strategic business discussions.
• Identify potential business opportunities within hydropower, water resources, dams, and infrastructure sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

5. Team Development & Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor and guide engineers and project managers across the hydropower business line.
• Promote technical excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Support competency development and succession planning initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Review and approve technical reports, project status reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure proper project records and document management practices are maintained.
• Present technical solutions and project updates to management and clients.

Your Profile

• M.Tech in Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulics, Hydraulic Structures, or related discipline from a reputed institute.
• Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in hydropower, dams, river engineering, and water resources projects.
• Proven experience in project management and leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong exposure to feasibility studies, detailed engineering, design reviews, and project execution support.
• Experience in domestic and international hydropower projects will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, project delivery frameworks, and client management.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in hydraulic design and analysis of hydropower and water resource infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modelling tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MIKE, Bentley Water Solutions, or equivalent software.
• Good understanding of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications and hydraulic simulations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and engineering design software.
• Knowledge of dam engineering, river training works, flood studies, sediment transport analysis, and water conveyance systems.
• Strong project planning, resource management, and technical review capabilities.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.
