What You Can Expect

ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Structured Natural Gas Originator to join our growing team. This position sits in Houston, TX reporting to the Vice President of Structured Gas Origination.

 

You play a pivotal role in expanding our natural gas portfolio through the development and execution of complex structured transactions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will leverage their deep market knowledge, strong analytical skills, and established industry relationships to identify and capitalize on profitable opportunities within the North American natural gas market.

 

•       Demonstrated ability to deliver results, timely management of deals,  and proven  contract negotiation skills from initiation to execution

•       Origination and Deal Structuring:

o      Identify, develop, and execute structured natural gas transactions, including but not limited to, tolling agreements, storage optimization, transportation deals, basis trades, and other complex commercial arrangements.

o      Structure bespoke solutions to meet the specific risk management and supply requirements of industrial end-users, power generators, natural gas producers and other market participants.

o      Lead the negotiation and execution of contracts, ensuring alignment with EEMNA’s risk management policies and commercial objectives.

•       Market Analysis and Strategy:

o      Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and potential opportunities within the North American natural gas market.

o      Develop and implement origination strategies to expand EEMNA’s market share and profitability.

o      Provide market intelligence and insights to internal stakeholders, including trading, risk management, and legal teams.

•       Relationship Management:

o      Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including producers, pipelines, storage operators, and end-users.

o      Represent EEMNA at industry events and conferences, building brand awareness and expanding the company’s network.

o      Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless deal execution and customer satisfaction.

•       Risk Management:

o      Assess and mitigate risks associated with structured transactions, ensuring compliance with EEMNA’s risk management framework.

o      Work closely with risk management teams to develop and implement appropriate hedging strategies.

o      Monitor and manage the performance of existing transactions, identifying and addressing potential issues.

•       Represent ENGIE at conferences, client events and presentations

 

 

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in which you completed courses in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other Analytical or related field

Minimum of 10 years in North America natural gas markets including trading, marketing, origination and/or structuring with a track record of adding value through originating commercial delivery and business growth

 

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with commodity derivative products to structure highly complex transactions with producers or consumers

Deep understanding of the North American natural gas market, including supply/demand fundamentals, pipeline infrastructure, and regulatory environment.

Excellent commercial instinct, creativity ability to find and create commercial value from multiple sources

Proven track record of originating and executing complex structured transactions.

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Established network of industry contacts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong understanding of risk management principles.

Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to present to senior executive management both internally and externally

Collaborative team player with demonstrated willingness to widely share knowledge and expertise

Strong working knowledge of Capital and Project Finance

Experience in contract negotiations and execution

Compensation

Salary Range: $150,600 – $230,920 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
