What You Can Expect
As a Real Time Optimization Representative, you will report to Real Time Optimization Manager and work with a team to execute real-time dispatch strategies and support 24/7 monitoring and management of a portfolio of ENGIE and third party owned generation assets. This role involves the purchase and sale of energy in real-time, ensuring the scheduled delivery of ancillary service obligations, and optimizing for financial results in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and California Independent System Operator (CAISO) regions.

Questions For Recruiter To Answer In This Section:
- Monitor Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), alert systems, and market data to oversee Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets, maintaining a continuous picture of fleet performance, operational conditions, and market position
- Make market decisions that drive profitable Profit & Loss (P&L) on a minute-by-minute basis, while meeting scheduled obligations and adhering to long term financial strategies set forth by Day-Ahead traders
- Execute said decisions through the purchase and sale of energy products, utilizing in-house tools and submitting bids and offers into Independent System Operator’s (ISO’s) systems
- Must learn and maintain up to date knowledge of ISO operational practices and regulations and ensure compliance with said regulations through day-to-day operating practices
- Act as single point of contact with plant control room operators to respond to operational issues
- Maintain current system log and proper documentation of important information (unit availability, generation level, dispatch base points, generation cost, fuel inventory, market prices, etc.)
- Disseminate all critical information with other operators at shift-change, and across relevant cross functional teams within ENGIE Energy Marketing North America
- Run P&L reports as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in business, finance, economics, engineering, other related disciplines or equivalent combination of technical training
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Must possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Willingness and ability to obtain North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) certification
- Must work 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts which routinely include working some weekends and holidays
- Possess a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Adapts to working in a constantly changing environment, bidding strategies, unit commitment strategies

This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis;
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
Compensation
Salary Range: $61,400 – $94,070 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
