What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America’s Renewables and Flex Power (RFGBU) organization is seeking a highly qualified Senior Project Cost Controls Analyst to join our high-performing team. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional project teams to provide comprehensive cost control support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate monitoring, analysis, forecasting, and reporting of project financial performance.

Working closely with Project Managers, Schedulers, Finance, Procurement, and other key stakeholders, you will help maintain the integrity of project data, forecasts, and reporting, while identifying cost and schedule trends, risks, and opportunities. Your insights will enable project leaders to make timely, data-driven decisions and support successful project execution.

This position requires regular collaboration with corporate support functions and proficiency in ENGIE’s enterprise systems to manage project controls, forecasting, and financial reporting in alignment with company standards, processes, and strategic objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Support cost control activities across RFGBU development, construction, and operational projects by managing budgets, tracking Limited Notices to Proceed (LNTPs), preparing Schedules of Values (SOV), supporting Planned Value (PV) distribution, and maintaining alignment between project costs, approved budgets, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Validate and reconcile project financial data, including actual costs, commitments, accruals, approved changes, contingency, and forecasted remaining costs to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely project reporting
  • Partner with Project Managers to deliver comprehensive project controls reporting and financial analysis, including month-over-month cost variance reviews by WBS, Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) updates, contingency management, budget reconciliations, change events, change orders, and project risk assessments
  • Collaborate with Project Schedulers and Project Managers to perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, including Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) metrics. Evaluate project progress, milestones, planned value, and schedule performance to assess impacts on project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and overall project delivery
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and escalate emerging cost, schedule, forecasting, contingency, and change-control risks while validating forecast assumptions, project inputs, and supporting documentation to ensure reporting remains accurate, defensible, and actionable
  • Contribute to Project Controls excellence by supporting process improvements, workflow optimization, data-quality initiatives, and updates to department standards, while providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders on Project Controls tools, processes, and best practices
  • Operate independently with limited supervision, managing multiple deliverables and priorities while collaborating effectively with project teams and leadership to achieve project objectives

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Construction Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project cost controls experience, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Experience in oil and gas, utilities, power generation, or other large-scale infrastructure industries with mature project controls practices is also valued
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, charts, lookups, and complex formulas used for project cost forecasting, estimating, and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Coupa, or similar platforms supporting procurement, accounting, payment processing, and project cost management
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling principles and the ability to interpret project milestones, progress, planned value, and schedule impacts on cost and forecasting. Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or comparable scheduling tools is preferred
  • Experience utilizing Power BI to develop, maintain, customize, or support dashboards and project reporting, including data validation and reporting enhancements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to validate project data, reconcile information across multiple systems, assess forecast assumptions, identify risks and discrepancies, and communicate actionable insights to project stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and performance metrics, including Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI), preferred
