What You Can Expect

As our Pricing Senior Advisor, you will play a key role in pricing, structuring, load management, and profitability analysis for ENGIE Resources’ retail power transactions. By combining multiple data sources, you will identify opportunities, propose solutions, and generate actionable insights to support sales, pricing, and load management activities.  As we transition to a new pricing engine, this role will be instrumental in helping define the future state of pricing operations. The new system will automate many manual tasks currently performed by Pricing Analysts, requiring a strong understanding of market dynamics, forward market impacts on customer pricing, and the regulatory landscape, along with a solid financial perspective.  In addition, as the new pricing system is SAS-based, you will leverage advanced knowledge of automated testing solutions and validation frameworks. This rules-based, highly automated environment will require strong software engineering capabilities to enhance system performance and drive business outcomes.

 

This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports dually to the Head of Pricing and the THERM Project Manager.

 

 

  • Research complex business problems and identify opportunities to design, develop, and propose actionable solutions in support of pricing and load management activities
  • Support the development and enhancement of tools and analysis that support pricing and load management activities. Design, build, and maintain an automated testing platform that continuously validates pricing calculations, data transformations, data exchange, and system integrations across business applications and the commercial energy sales lifecycle using programming languages such as Python, PySpark, SQL, Power Query with the ability to implement API testing frameworks (REST/SOAP) as requirements evolve
  • Collaborate closely within Pricing and other teams such as Portfolio Management, Load Forecasting, Risk, and Marketing & Sales, to understand data flows, system dependencies, and validation needs -- serving as a trusted technical partner who translates business requirements into automated validation criteria
  • Research and produce ad-hoc analysis on pricing trends, various cost components and regulatory issues to enhance competitiveness, optimize risk exposure and improve the profitability of the retail portfolio  
  • Leverage analytical techniques on large data sets to produce actionable analysis on customer buying behavior, competitive trends and profitability of various customer segments
  • Build and publish live dashboards that surface test execution results, data quality scorecards, and coverage metrics, as well as business-facing reports for pricing trends, portfolio performance, and load forecasting accuracy
  • Support new product development activities through coordination with various internal functional groups.
  • Directly interface with Sales to facilitate deal lifecycle and personnel training

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, Business, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics or Computer Science or a related field. In lieu of a degree, we will accept a combination of hands-on experience in pricing, energy markets, or a related analytical field
  • A minimum of 10 years of work-related experience in the retail energy industry
  • You are a strong problem solver with advanced analytical and statistical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience, including senior leadership
  • You are knowledgeable in energy market fundamentals, including customer usage patterns and pricing methodologies
  • You have advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, and MS Excel, with experience in test automation, data extraction, transformation, validation, and large-scale data management
  • You have experience with API testing (REST/SOAP), AWS cloud services, and exposure to AI and machine learning tools for automation and integration
  • You are detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to think logically while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, three days in-office
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $135,000 – $206,88 5 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
