What You Can Expect

ENGIE is searching for a highly motivated Origination Associate I with a strong interest in US electricity markets and data analytics. A successful candidate will develop their analytical skills while learning about the role of energy storage in US power markets. This hybrid position is located in the Galleria area of Houston, TX and reports to the Director of Origination.    

Daily, you will work with a variety of Power Origination team members to assist the team in developing efficiency in managing a growing ENGIE Energy Marketing North America’s  (EEMNA’s) external client network. The goal is to foster stronger partnerships, optimize workflows, and ensure the team’s ability to scale its services effectively.

  • You will coordinate with other groups within EEMNA to assist in onboarding efforts of new counterparties
  • You will assist in handling contract negotiations for complex transactions, ensuring thorough analysis and alignment with company objectives. This includes coordinating with legal and financial teams to structure agreements effectively
  • You will be responsible for Creating PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate the analysis, findings, and strategies to both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • You will periodically attend industry marketing conferences to network with peers, and stay abreast of emerging trends within the energy sector
  • Additionally, you monitor and follow regulatory developments to ensure compliance and adapt strategies to align with evolving market requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics or similar discipline Or, a  bachelor’s degree (unspecified major) with a minimum of one year in power or gas origination
  • Strong interest in the US electricity grid/energy industry
  • Wiling to learn and work in a challenging, fast-paced, trading floor environment

 Essential Physical Abilities

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Microsoft Office Advanced skills in excel such as pivots, V-Lookup Excel and PowerPoint
  • You must be highly organized, in both time management and with data related tasks
  • A skilled communicator with verbal, written and digital skills and using that ability to interact with many stakeholders and internal clients. Balancing those groups needs with effective responses
  • Ability to self-start and manage multiple workflows
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to use a company issued computer

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
  • You must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,900.00 – $114,770.00 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
