What You Can Expect
As the Senior Analyst, NERC CIP Compliance, you will support the administration, assessment, and continuous improvement of applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Reliability Standards across ENGIE North America’s renewable energy and applicable power operations. You will help maintain compliance controls, procedures, evidence, internal assessments, audit-readiness activities, and implementation plans that support ENGIE’s NERC Internal Compliance Program.
In this role, you will work with Operations, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Operational Technology, Engineering, Physical Security, Asset Management, and site personnel to help ensure assigned CIP requirements are understood, documented, and supported by reliable evidence. Your day-to-day work will include reviewing compliance records, coordinating control activities, preparing audit materials, tracking corrective actions, and helping teams respond to regulatory changes. You will manage assigned work independently while escalating material risks, unresolved questions, and potential compliance concerns to NERC Compliance leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Support the implementation and maintenance of applicable NERC CIP requirements by developing procedures, internal controls, control narratives, work instructions, evidence requirements, and implementation plans
- Coordinate with Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Operational Technology, Physical Security, Operations, Human Resources, Procurement, vendors, and site teams to document assigned CIP controls and follow activities through completion
- Maintain BES Cyber System and associated asset records, applicability matrices, control inventories, system documentation, access records, evidence repositories, calendars, exception logs, and other compliance documentation
- Prepare for NERC and Regional Entity audits, spot checks, self-certifications, Requests for Information, and other compliance monitoring activities by organizing evidence, developing readiness trackers, and reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and traceability
- Support the review of potential compliance concerns by coordinating fact-finding, preserving documentation, tracking corrective actions, and escalating identified risks or unresolved issues to NERC Compliance leadership
- Monitor new and revised CIP standards, regulatory guidance, implementation plans, and enforcement developments; assess potential impacts and coordinate assigned actions, milestones, training, and readiness activities
- Support periodic access reviews, control testing, technical assessments, incident and recovery exercises, data-quality reviews, and after-action activities while preparing dashboards, status reports, risk summaries, and management materials
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field in which you developed knowledge applicable to cybersecurity, operational technology, regulatory compliance, or electric-power operations; equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in NERC compliance, cybersecurity compliance, utility or independent power operations, operational technology, engineering, audit, or a related electric-power discipline
- Experience interpreting, implementing, assessing, or supporting NERC CIP Reliability Standards within an operational, technical, cybersecurity, or regulatory environment
- Experience supporting audits, spot checks, self-certifications, Requests for Information, investigations, or other compliance monitoring and readiness activities
- Experience developing or maintaining compliance procedures, internal controls, control narratives, evidence records, implementation plans, action trackers, or corrective-action documentation
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity governance, operational technology, control systems, access management, physical security, incident response, recovery, vulnerability management, or supply-chain risk
- Ability to review technical and compliance documentation, identify inconsistencies or evidence gaps, coordinate multiple deadlines, and communicate findings clearly to technical, operational, and leadership audiences
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote work
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
Compensation
Salary Range: $88,800 – $136,045 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
