What You Can Expect
As our Finance Operations and Compliance Intern, you will support the GBS Accounting team by reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, assessing internal control procedures, verifying the accuracy of financial transactions, and contributing to the optimization of financial workflows for improved efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in financial operations and valuable insight into the accounting processes that support complex retail activities. The position is based in our Houston, TX office.
- Examine and validate balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Review non-standard financial transactions for correctness and consistency with accounting standards
- Help maintain documentation related to financial transactions along with the review and compliance activities
- Collaborate with the accounting team to understand and support retail-related financial operations
- Contribute to initiatives that ensure adherence to compliance standards
What You’ll Bring
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- You have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems exposure with ERP software
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Additional Details
- The intern should be available to work 20–30 hours per week, with the option of two in-office days (part-time, 20 hours) or three in-office days (full-time, 40 hours)
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $22.50 – 35.50 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
