What You Can Expect
As our Accounting Intern, you will assist in the mapping process and gain hands-on experience in month-end closing activities and key accounting principles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in accounting and finance. The internship work term will be January 5, 2026 - May 29, 2026, part-time 10-15 hours per week minimum.
You will:
- Support the accounting team in month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries and variance analysis
- Assist in the mapping process to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Learn and apply key accounting principles and practices
- Assist in preparing financial statements and monthly operating reports
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for analysis
- Review Balance sheet reconciliation and prepare summary of risk
You will report to the Accounting Manager.
What You’ll Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- An understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Additional Details
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a hybrid policy
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation
Hourly Range: $23.50 to $28.50 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
