What You Can Expect
As a Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Intern at ENGIE North America, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with a global leader in sustainability. Based in Houston, you’ll collaborate with site teams across North America to
- Develop, update, and maintain Environmental and Societal Action Plans in alignment with ENGIE’s policies
- Identify and promote Best Management Practices (BMPs) to enhance environmental and social performance
- Create community reports that highlight site-level activities, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with ENGIE’s mission
- Support climate and biodiversity workshops, sustainability trainings to raise awareness and deepen understanding of sustainability, and assist in developing sustainability communications
- Contribute to the company-wide decarbonization initiatives that advance ENGIE’s climate goals
What You’ll Bring
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate or graduate program in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field at an accredited college or university, with at least three years of relevant coursework
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Critical thinking skills, self motivation, and ability to work independently, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Comfortable presenting ideas in group settings, contributing to collaborative discussions, workshops, and facilitating training’s
- Naturally curious, adaptable, and eager to learn, with demonstrated integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information
- Exposure to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting concepts
- Clear and effective communication skills, strong writing and digital storytelling abilities around sustainability topics
Additional Details
- The internship term will run from January 2026 to May 2026. Please note that this role follows ENGIE’s hybrid in-office work policy in the Houston, TX office requiring regular on-site presence—it is not eligible for remote work
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $23.00 -$31.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
