What You Can Expect

As our Retail Operations Analyst I (Cash) Intern, you will have the opportunity to support the facilitation of cash postings, analysis, and remediation of cash applications for all customer receipts, ensuring accurate and timely application to customer accounts. In this role, you will act as a liaison between Retail Operations and other functional departments, reconciling daily cash postings and researching discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate resolution. This internship opportunity is based in Houston, TX, and spans three months, from January 5, 2026 to May 29, 2026. You will report to the Retail Operations Manager

 

 

  • Timely and accurately cash matching in Engie’s ERP system
  • Reconcile daily cash match posting to bank account and analyze and research all unapplied cash receipts
  • Act as the liaison with other operations departments for the proper application of cash receipts
  • Analyze cash receipts, ensuring that the correct cash amounts remitted are applied and allocated accurately to customer accounts
  • Research all discrepancies between the cash receipt submission and customers’ outstanding balance to ensure timely resolution
  • Track and report on all cash in transit receipts
  • Provide daily status update to Manager
  • Make recommendations to Manager on process improvements that streamline the cash application activity
  • Participate in major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiative

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You are at least a Junior Undergraduate Student an is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree
  • You are mathematically inclined and demonstrate strong quantitative reasoning
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and are goal oriented
  • You have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy
  • You are self-motivated and able to work independently without assistance from your supervisor
  • You have proficiency with standard office software package

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office if you are based in Houston, TX
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $21.00 - $34.00 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
