What You Can Expect
As our North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance Engineering Advisor, you will contribute to the development and implementation of compliance programs and internal controls for ENGIE’s North America Renewables fleet. You’ll lead internal compliance assessments, review evidence, and help design technical programs that support regulatory compliance across a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets in TRE, MRO, WECC, NPCC, and SERC regions.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring audit readiness and continuous improvement of ENGIE’s NERC compliance program, with a particular focus on the Operations and Planning group of standards. This includes managing or conducting technical studies and compliance activities related to FAC, EOP, PRC, and MOD Reliability Standards.
What You Will Do
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for NERC Compliance within the Renewables Operations Engineering team and ensure that all engineering activities are aligned with compliance requirements
- Lead the development and implementation of new or improved internal controls to support compliance in collaboration with internal SMEs and technical consultants
- Monitor ongoing developments in Bulk Electric System reliability such as new or revised standards and identify the activities required to maintain compliance
- Develop and support systems and processes for managing compliance evidence and participate in audits as a technical SME
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objective
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline; In lieu of the educational requirement, we will accept a minimum of seven (7) years of experience working with NERC Reliability Standards
- Demonstrated domain expertise in one or more reliability standard areas (PRC, MOD, FAC,etc.)
- Experience performing or reviewing NERC Compliance studies or evidence for one or more of the following: PRC-004, 005, 019, 024, 025, and 027
- Proficient knowledge of one or more engineering topics related to compliance, for example relay testing, protection coordination, power system modelling, or substation equipment
- Deep understanding of NERC standards and regulations
- Effective analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work independently while effectively managing priorities
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office policy
- Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips. Additionally, a valid passport or ability to obtain one for international travel when required
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for the ability to drive to site locations when needed
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
