What You Can Expect

As our Compliance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting ENGIE's Compliance Group as we maintain compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements across a growing portfolio of renewable generation and energy assets. You will work alongside experienced compliance professionals and contribute to initiatives that support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, asset growth, and operational excellence.

 

This internship provides an opportunity to develop knowledge of energy industry regulations, compliance management systems, and utility-scale renewable operations while supporting key compliance activities throughout the organization This internship will term will be from September 7, 2026 – December 31, 2026

 

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Organize and maintain compliance evidence repositories and supporting documentation
  • Track recurring compliance obligations, deliverables, and regulatory reporting deadlines
  • Assist with reviews of NERC and CIP compliance documentation and records
  • Support asset registration activities with NERC, Regional Entities, and applicable ISO/RTO organizations
  • Assist with data collection and documentation associated with asset commissioning, energization, and commercial operation milestones
  • Prepare draft responses and supporting materials for ISO/RTO Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Support the compilation and submission of periodic NERC and Align compliance deliverables.
  • Assist in developing compliance metrics, dashboards, and management reports
  • Conduct research on regulatory developments, industry guidance, and emerging compliance requirements
  • Support audit preparation activities, self-certifications, spot checks, internal assessments, and corrective action tracking

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management or a related field
  • At least a junior with a minimum of two years completed course work
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in regulatory compliance, renewable energy, utilities, risk management, or governance functions
  • Experience working with databases, reporting tools, or data analytics

 

Additional Details

  • This internship is eligible for our hybrid work policy with three days in the office and two days remote.
  • Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • This is a full time internship with 40 hours per week
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Hourly Range:  $23.50 - $31.00 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
