What You Can Expect

As our  Retail Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cash operations within the retail business unit. This role ensures accurate and timely cash application, reconciliation, and reporting processes, while driving operational efficiency and compliance with internal controls. The manager will lead a team of cash operations analysts and collaborate cross-functionally with billing, accounting, IT, sales, and customer lifecycle teams. This position sits in Houston, TX reporting to the Commissions and Cash App, Director.

 

  • Lead and manage daily cash operations including cash application, reconciliation, and exception handling
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of customer payments across multiple channels ACH, wire, lockbox, credit card
  • Monitor and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and customer account issues

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, related fields, in lieu of a degree you have ten (10) years of experience in retail energy operations
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in leadership managing teams and projects
  • You have a solid understanding of general accounting practices, experience preparing and reporting financial adjustment entries to sub-ledger and G/L, and familiarity with SOX compliance
  • You are knowledgeable in energy markets, retail ERP platforms, banking interfaces, and cross-functional financial processes
  • You are proficient in advanced Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI, with the ability to analyze and present cash flow reports, KPIs, and operational metrics
  • You have excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, along with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • You are experienced in developing and maintaining cash operations policies, procedures, and internal controls, while collaborating with IT and Finance to optimize systems and automate processes
  • You have leadership experience managing banking and vendor relationships, coaching high-performing teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy three (3) days in office two remote days
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $86,100 – $132,020 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
