What You Can Expect

At ENGIE, we are accelerating the energy transition by building a cleaner, more sustainable future. Our Renewables team is growing fast, and we need driven professionals who want to shape that growth from the inside.

As a Business Development Advisor, you will support the growth of ENGIE's North American portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, battery energy storage, data center co-location, and emerging energy technologies. This highly visible role combines business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic analysis, and transaction execution, providing the opportunity to independently source, evaluate, negotiate, and execute complex investment opportunities that support ENGIE's long-term growth strategy.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the origination, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and strategic investments across ENGIE's renewable energy portfolio
  • Develop and analyze financial models, valuations, commercial assessments, and investment scenarios to support transaction structuring, pricing, and investment decisions
  • Manage transaction processes from initial assessment through closing, coordinating cross-functional internal teams and external advisors while driving key project milestones
  • Lead commercial negotiations and due diligence efforts, identifying risks, opportunities, and value drivers while securing favorable contractual and financial terms
  • Prepare executive-level investment memoranda, presentations, and governance materials that support internal approvals and strategic decision-making
  • Support the growth of ENGIE's development pipeline by evaluating greenfield development opportunities, market expansion strategies, and emerging technology investments across wholesale power markets
  • Design and enhance analytical tools, dashboards, reporting processes, and workflow solutions that improve visibility, decision-making, and operational efficiency across Business Development and M&A activities

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience within the energy industry, including renewable energy development, business development, project acquisitions, project finance, investment banking, energy trading, consulting, utilities, or independent power producers (IPPs)
  • Experience leading or supporting complex M&A, investment, development, or strategic transactions within the energy sector
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities, with demonstrated experience evaluating investment opportunities and developing actionable business recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop polished, executive-ready analyses, presentations, and investment materials; experience with Power BI, Think-Cell, or similar business intelligence tools is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex market, commercial, and financial information, identify key risks and opportunities, and recommend strategic paths forward
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously
  • Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive innovation, process enhancements, and scalable business solutions
