What You Can Expect

As our Accounting Advisor, you will play a key role in overseeing general ledger accounting and financial reporting for Supply entities in their operational phase. You will lead critical aspects of the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in a fast-paced retail energy environment.

This role partners closely with cross-functional teams—including FP&A, Business Control, Supply, Settlement, and Operations—to analyze financial performance, resolve variances, and strengthen internal controls. You will also contribute to process improvements, support audit and reporting requirements, and serve as a backup to the Accounting Manager in their absence.

You will:

  • Perform general ledger accounting and reporting activities, including monthly operating reports, cash flow monitoring, and IFRS-compliant financial reporting (Cartesis)
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes; prepare journal entries (accruals, intercompany, prior period) and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely reporting to Business Control, Technical Accounting, and FP&A
  • Analyze financial results and gross margin; provide variance explanations and serve as a key contact for financial performance insights
  • Record and reconcile RECs, ISO settlements, intercompany activity, cash, and energy transactions; prepare related accruals and validate supplier/utility invoices
  • Ensure accurate revenue, expense, and margin recognition while resolving discrepancies between operational and financial systems and managing timely payments
  • Support audits, maintain internal controls and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) compliance, drive process improvements, collaborate cross-functionally, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and team backup responsibilities

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ of relevant accounting experience in Financial Reporting, Account Reconciliations or related field

Additional Details
