What you will do:
As a GBS Procurement Team Lead – Purchase Order Operations, you will lead a team of Purchase Order Specialists responsible for delivering high-quality procurement operations services for France, Belgium and, potentially, other European countries. You will ensure efficient Purchase Order processing, operational excellence, compliance with procurement policies, and outstanding stakeholder support while driving team performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of 11–13 Purchase Order Specialists, fostering a collaborative, high-performing and customer-oriented environment.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of Purchase Order operations, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant processing in line with procurement procedures and service level agreements.
- Coordinate daily team activities, workload distribution, capacity planning and operational priorities to ensure service continuity and optimal performance.
- Monitor team KPIs, SLAs, productivity, quality, backlog and compliance indicators, identifying risks, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex Purchase Order cases, providing guidance and supporting effective issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval workflows, internal controls, segregation of duties and company governance requirements.
- Build strong partnerships with buyers, requesters, suppliers, Accounts Payable, Supplier Master Data, Catalog Management and other procurement support teams.
- Support onboarding, coaching, knowledge sharing and continuous development of team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, root causes and automation opportunities, while contributing to process standardization and operational excellence.
- Prepare operational updates, performance analysis and improvement plans for management and key stakeholders.
Desired education, expertise, and skills:
- University degree.
- Several years of experience in Procurement Operations, Purchase Order processing, Procure-to-Pay or Operational Purchasing, ideally within a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment.
- Previous experience coordinating teams or managing people in an international and multicultural environment.
- Solid understanding of the Purchase Order lifecycle, including purchase requisitions, PO creation, approval workflows, supplier interactions, goods receipt and invoice matching.
- Good knowledge of procurement operations, service delivery management, KPIs, SLAs and process compliance.
- Experience working with ERP or procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ivalua, Ariba or similar solutions represents an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, operational deadlines and escalations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset and experience contributing to process optimization and standardization.
- Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
