Socio-Environmental Analyst II – Project Implementation

We are seeking a Socio-Environmental Analyst II to work on the socioeconomic aspects of our energy projects. You will be responsible for fostering dialogue with communities, managing stakeholders, and implementing social programs that make a difference. Your Responsibilities
- Support the timely acquisition and maintenance of environmental licenses and permits, as well as approvals from other relevant authorities.
- Assist in defining environmental licensing plans and strategies.
- Analyze environmental assessments and socio-environmental feasibility studies.
- Ensure the identification, mapping, and assessment of socio-environmental and land-related constraints and impacts.
- Support other departments in defining applicable socio-environmental guidelines for projects under development.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permit requirements alongside regulatory agencies and provide regular reporting on results.
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of socio-environmental programs.
- Contribute to socio-environmental risk management, including risk and opportunity mapping.
- Coordinate and manage internal interfaces (Engineering, Legal, Contracts, HSE, Finance) and external stakeholders (environmental agencies, communities, consultants) related to socio-environmental matters.
- Manage environmental programs from their development through effective implementation, interfacing with construction activities.
- Prepare, update, and review technical and management reports, internal and external correspondence, opinions, and other required documentation.
- Prepare, review, and consolidate technical documents and reports required by environmental agencies.
- Maintain continuous interaction with contracted environmental consulting firms, ensuring compliance with the agreed scope of work.
- Support internal and external audits related to socio-environmental topics.
- Ensure the transition of socio-environmental processes to operational teams upon completion of project implementation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Geography, Business Administration, Biology, or Law.
- Intermediate knowledge of project management and stakeholder management.
- Strong knowledge of environmental licensing processes and national environmental legislation.
- Familiarity with international standards and certifications such as IFC, Equator Principles, and similar frameworks.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Curious, dynamic profile, with critical thinking and strong interpersonal relationship skills.
- Desirable: knowledge of ArcGIS and intermediate English proficiency.
Location
Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil – ENGIE Brasil Energia, PLP Department. This position requires availability to travel.
