Risk Management Analyst II

Your Responsibilities

  • Monitor and simulate the electro-energetic conditions of the Brazilian Interconnected Power System (SIN) in the short and medium term, identifying risks and opportunities for the portfolio.
  • Develop daily studies on the evolution of the Settlement Price for Differences (PLD) to support Portfolio Management and Trading activities.
  • Propose and develop computational models that emulate the actual operation of the power system, considering the security criteria established by the National System Operator (ONS).
  • Perform energy pricing studies, ensuring the quality and consistency of the assumptions applied.
  • Participate in methodology validation forums and ensure the consistency of tests related to energy supply planning.
  • Update strategic reports and corporate systems with simulation results and pricing assumptions.
  • Propose improvements to processes and studies under your responsibility, considering technological advancements and market best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or Energy Engineering, with a specialization in Energy Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of energy planning, power system operations, grid procedures, and energy pricing models.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and data analysis tools such as Power BI.
  • Advanced English for reporting to the corporate headquarters.
  • Intermediate knowledge of risk management and analysis, optimization techniques, and the regulation of the Brazilian power sector.
  • Strong analytical profile with the ability to make data-driven decisions, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Preferred: Postgraduate degree in Energy Systems.

Location

Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil – ENGIE Brasil Energia Headquarters.
