Renewables Gases (part of ENGIE), manages multiple anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities throughout the South West region. These facilities supply eco-friendly energy to residences and businesses in the area.

 

Role Overview: 

Join our team as a Maintenance Engineer, where you will work alongside the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure the proactive maintenance of our operational anaerobic digestion facility

 

This site-based role is crucial for minimising downtime and maximising plant operations.  The role is a weekday, daytime shift role with weekend and on-call cover as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative and Reactive Maintenance:

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to perform preventative and reactive maintenance, either individually or as part of a team.
  • Develop and manage proactive maintenance procedures to address unplanned plant failures.

 

Operational Support:

  • Assist the plant operational team with daily tasks, including feeding, monitoring, and maintenance services.
  • Prioritise and oversee maintenance work to ensure timely completion.

 

Technical Problem-Solving:

  • Investigate and diagnose complex mechanical issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and prepare corrective action reports.

 

Resource Management:

  • Ensure availability and compliance of all necessary plant, machinery, and tools.
  • Manage stock levels and tool reordering to minimise downtime.

 

Supplier and IT Management:

  • Develop and improve supplier relationships.
  • Monitor and maintain IT control systems, including remote monitoring when off-sit

 

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all permits to work are in place before commencing any work.
  • Adhere to and enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections.

 

General Maintenance:

  • Assist with general site cleanliness and landscape maintenance.
  • Support clamp maintenance and associated tasks.

 

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Record and communicate downtime and corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of weighbridge operations.

 

Training and Development:

  • Support training programs to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of working and managing maintenance plant machinery in a similar operational environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of anaerobic digestion sites
  • Demonstrable experience in managing H&S processes and procedures including the production and implementation of risk assessments and work methods.
  • Proven experience of working to managing own time to plan and meet complex and varied tasks.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative, and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage and guide on site contractors.
  • Experience in interpreting plant related data to maximise output and solve process issues.
  • Excellent IT skills with good numerical, analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with stakeholders, partners and colleagues

 

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (such as an apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ / HNC / HND etc.)
  • Telehandler
  • First Aid
  • Fire Warden
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Electrical Safety Awareness
  • Full UK Driving Licence
