What You Can Expect
The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the design, review, and implementation of electrical engineering solutions for ENGIE's operating assets and capital projects. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role ensures electrical systems meet project objectives, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position serves as a key technical expert, supporting project execution from design through commissioning. It also collaborates closely with internal teams, contractors, utilities, clients, and permitting authorities. Additionally, the Senior Electrical Engineer partners with ENGIE's global Centers of Excellence to promote best practices and technical consistency across the organization.
- Develop electrical design specifications and cost estimates for transformers, switchgear, power and fiber optic cables, motors, generators, UPS systems, and substations.
- Prepare bills of materials and equipment lists to support project execution.
- Review and validate detailed engineering work performed by contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors.
- Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure, including distribution systems, utility supply connections, and facility wiring.
- Lead engineering assessments and recommendations for equipment upgrades, repairs, replacements, and performance improvements.
- Perform and review electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and infrastructure analyses.
- Support electrical safety programs by conducting audits and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Design and specify electrical components, perform engineering calculations, and coordinate utility interconnections.
- Manage permitting, regulatory compliance, and utility approvals with local authorities and service providers.
- Conduct site visits, field inspections, and technical assessments while remaining current on industry codes, standards, and best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8 years’ experience in a similar position, including designing electrical systems and field inspection and troubleshooting
- PE license preferred
- Familiarity with district energy, utilities and combined heat and power systems
- Knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, IEC, ISO, IEEE and other electrical design codes
- Knowledge of specifying and sourcing electrical equipment for low voltage (up to 600V) and medium voltage (up to 34.5kV) applications
- Knowledge of latest sustainability practices for electrical systems and proficiency in protective relaying.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and independence.

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time

Compensation
Salary Range: $102,000.00 – $156,400.00 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
