We are looking for an Energy Costing Analyst to join our team of 12 dedicated professionals. You will develop pricing models, analyse market risks, and influence senior decision-makers. Your work will directly shape how we price energy products and manage cost exposure across the business.

 

Summary of what you will do

 

  • Develop, maintain, and improve models for cost forecasting, risk exposure analysis, and pricing calculations to keep pricing friction at target levels.
  • Analyse market, regulatory, and cost data to propose timely updates to cost recovery forecasts and risk premiums.
  • Communicate self-generated analysis to senior management and make recommendations on pricing policy and risk management protocols.
  • Monitor the regulatory landscape and assess impacts of industry change on pricing methodologies, acting as subject matter expert.
  • Support Finance teams with Mark to Market reporting for third party costs as part of forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Proactively identify and resolve pricing issues by improving existing systems or developing new processes and tools.
  • Provide support on bespoke price requests, complex tenders, and ad-hoc pricing queries across the wider business.

 

What you will bring to the role

 

  • Degree in an analytical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in energy pricing or a related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA, along with proficiency in Python, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Proven experience developing Jupyter notebooks and Python scripts for reporting and automation.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, retail pricing methodologies, and the cost elements of gas and electricity supply.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex numerical problems and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercial acumen, attention to detail, and a creative approach to problem solving.

 

Location

This is a hybrid role with two office days per week required. You will split your time between home and our office in Leeds.

 

This role is available as a full-time position or can be tailored to a 4-day week for the right candidate
