Job Purpose:
|
The Data Center Electrical Facility Engineer will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting. He is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, and fire/life safety equipment within the Data Center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all Electrical related facility operations within a given Data Center. Data Center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
|
- Responsible for the on-site management of DC, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & Site local legislation.
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate job cards & incident management tickets for the Data Center facility.
- Work with DCO managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.
- Establish documentation relevant to business & facility operations.
- Manage routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning and build-out of new facilities.
- Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
- Management of the DC, in the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.
- Review DC contract compliance & ensure all SLAs are achieved.
- Business interface with DC Management for day-to-day operational requirements.
- Assist in recruiting efforts.
- Manage DC to resolve any infrastructure Electrical engineering issues.
- Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Maintain, and operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, and building management system.
- Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations
- Create the Job cards in the CAFM App as per Site requirements and follow up on the Job cards until close by the Technician
- Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
- Prepare and submit Monthly reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken
- Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV systems, fire/life safety, and other systems.
- Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
- Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
- Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required
- Familiarity with datacenter guidelines and standards especially Tier III design standards and ASME/ASHRAE/NFPA.
- Ability to handle rotation Shifts on a Monthly basis.

Skills Required:
|
- Good knowledge of power systems (UPS, Control Panels, DB’s, Busway systems, Generators, Fire & Safety, ELV Systems)
- Basic knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, Chillers)
- Working knowledge of UPS systems and associated switch gear and Distribution Panels
- Working knowledge of standby generator systems and associated switch gear.
- Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Understand and perform the MV & HV switching as per business needs.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance shutdown activities of MV systems is a must.

Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or Technical Degree Diploma
- 2-3 years Experience in the Data Center Maintenance Field.
- 6+ year Total Experience in Electrical Operations/Maintenance
|
Other Requirements:
|
- 33KVA License is an added advantage.
- Data Center Certifications will be an added advantage.
