Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring all Electrical systems within the data center is healthy and available at maximum efficiency.This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to Alrms/Faults.The Technician serves as an expert technical resource, reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third-party vendors. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain as per the requirement.
This equipment includes MV & LV switchgear,UPS’s, Batteries, Lighting system,earthing & Lightning protection system , control panels.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks and daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment and keeping daily logs/ records of all maintenance functions.
Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, repair work and minor modification works for electrical and ELV systems.
Maintain, operate all electrical systems and associated equipment, building management system, etc...
Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
Create the Job cards in CAFM Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards that the Engineer assigns.
Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
Review and understand equipment and methods of operation for Electrical systems, ELV system and fire/life safety systems.
Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
Support any 24/7 facility needs and activities as required
Attend training sessions and seminars.
Other assigned tasks as requested.
Performing statutory maintenance testing and checks within the facility including emergency lighting, domestic water treatment, fire sprinkler systems, electrical distribution, battery systems.
Electrical fault finding and fault diagnosis, functional testing.
Ensuring good working order of Electrical lighting and power systems, UPS systems and batteries, Distribution boards, control panels, main switchboards
First Line Response to help desk calls for failure/breakdown of MEP systems on site
Work day shift/night shift rotational 6 days 12hr per shift and flexibility in working time
Ensure all works are carried in line with Company Procedures and Policies, Health and Safety, Control of Hazardous materials, in line with COSHH regulations and PPE.
Skills Required:
Good knowledge in UPS system, Control panels , MDB/SMDBs
Basic working knowledge on ELV , Fire Alarm system and Mechanical systems.
Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
Can manually lift 25kG weight.
Ability to read, write and speak in English.
Proficiency in use of computer - Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Skill in installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
Excellent organizational skills and initiative to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to meet demanding time constraints.
Strong team player with the ability to influence/develop/maintain relationships with internal/external contacts
Qualifications:
Technical Diploma Degree or ITI (with minimum 2 years course)
3+ years experience in Data Center Facilities Management or similar critical environment.
7+ years total Experience in Electrical & ELV Facility Management Field.
Other Requirements:
Working knowledge of Permit to Work , LOTO & similar safety procedures will be added advantage.
