About the Role

We’re looking for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join our team at Pelican Point Power Station, Outer Harbour (SA). Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant through the maintenance of electrical, control and instrumentation systems.

Working as part of a collaborative, site-based team, you’ll contribute to maintaining plant performance while supporting a strong safety culture and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Standard working hours are 7:30 to 4:00pm. This role requires flexibility, including the ability to work outside normal hours to meet operational requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine, preventative and breakdown maintenance across electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults in instrumentation, control equipment and PLC systems.
  • Support plant reliability, availability and efficiency through effective maintenance practices.
  • Work with contractors and suppliers to support maintenance activities and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Contribute ideas and assist with continuous improvement initiatives and small project work.
  • Maintain accurate records in maintenance management systems and work in line with safety and environmental requirements.

About You

You’re a collaborative, safety-focused EC&I Technician who enjoys hands-on problem solving in an industrial environment. You take pride in your work, contribute positively to team outcomes, and can adapt to changing priorities.

  • A recognised trade qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation (e.g. Certificate III in Electrotechnology / Instrumentation) and a current, unrestricted electrical licence.
  • Demonstrated experience working with industrial instrumentation, PLCs and electrical systems in a power, process or heavy industrial environment.

  • Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. Maximo or similar).
  • A solid understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in an operational site environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and contractors.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond to changing operational needs.
