The role holder is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and water treatment of swimming pools. This role involves hands-on work in ensuring that pools are properly cleaned, the water is treated and balanced, and equipment is maintained to operate efficiently. Technicians are also responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.

- Clean pool surfaces, including walls, floors, and decks, to remove debris, dirt, and algae.
- Skim the pool surface to remove floating debris and vacuum the pool bottom to ensure cleanliness.
- Clean and replace filters and other essential pool components.
- Inspect pool equipment, such as pumps, heaters, and lighting, to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Test the pool water for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and other chemical levels.
- Add chemicals (e.g., chlorine, algaecides, and pH adjusters) to balance the pool water and ensure safe swimming conditions.
- Monitor water clarity and cleanliness, ensuring water meets health and safety standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to pool filtration, plumbing, heating systems, and other pool equipment.
- Perform minor repairs or replace pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, and plumbing parts.
- Adjust or recalibrate pool equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform regular maintenance on pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and other components.
- Inspect pool pumps and motors for wear and tear, ensuring they are running efficiently.
- Clean and maintain pool cleaning equipment, including vacuums, skimmers, and filters.
- Ensure the pool and water treatment systems comply with local health and safety regulations.
- Safely handle and store pool chemicals, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of pool chemicals, equipment, and cleaning tools, ensuring they are available when needed.
- Identify potential issues before they become major problems, notify to supervisor and recommend repairs or upgrades to improve pool functionality
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pool heating, lighting, pumps, and water treatment systems.

- Proven experience as a swimming pool cleaner/ operator/ technician or in a similar role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work with various tools and equipment related to pool maintenance and plumbing.
- Understanding of pool filtration systems, pumps, heating systems, and water treatment processes.
- Hands-on skills in problem diagnosis.
- Familiarity with pool chemical treatment and balancing, including understanding chlorine levels, pH levels, and water clarity.
