Plant Operator - Night Shift Anaerobic Digestion

Summary of what you will do

• Operate and monitor the AD plant independently during night shifts
• Conduct regular physical checks and monitor plant performance
• Communicate promptly with on-call Plant Operators and Regional Plant Manager to resolve issues
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance tasks
• Operate the weighbridge (training provided)
• Accurately record operational and maintenance events in the company database
• Prepare routine performance reports
• Demonstrate flexibility in covering annual leave and absences of colleagues

What you will bring to the role

• Experienced in operating similar operational sites or possess broad maintenance experience
• Comfortable with night shifts and lone working
• Excellent understanding of environmental and commercial issues impacting plant operations
• Proficient in monitoring via computer technology
• Full UK driving licence holder
• Skilled in operating telehandler/tractor/forklift (training provided)
• Strong IT skills with good numerical, analytical, and diagnostic abilities
• Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance
• Quick problem-solver with the ability to make prompt decisions
• Positive, proactive, and reliable team player with excellent communication skills
• Resilient and self-motivated, capable of working under own initiative

Job Based In

Rainbarrow Farm, Poundbury near Dorchester. This role requires on-site presence and involves lone working at night.

This is a night based role working 2496 hours per annum working a shift pattern as agreed with the Regional Plant Manager (6pm to 6am) including weekends. Please note that the annualised hours include the shift pattern of 4 x 12 hour shifts on a four on/four off basis plus training and additional days due to the rota pattern. 

 There is also the requirement to provide holiday cover for your team when required
