Rol

As Data Analyst, you will be part of the B2B Belgium Business Platform. The main focus is serving B2B customers in Belgium with power / gas, products and services, green energy … The business platform consists of approximately 180 people, from which 130 on business side and 55 on IS and DATA side. 

Within the Engie group, our business platform is part of the Global Energy Management & Sales global business unit.

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join a newly found “Data Team” to work on multiple uses cases linked to our Data Platform: Customer Business view, Green Energy Reporting, Metering, settlement,  etc.

• As a Data Analyst, you form the bridge between product owners, intrenal customers and the technical Data Team. Through workshops and individual discussions, you will quickly familiarize yourself with the business domains, analyze the business questions and interpret correctly the business requirements.
• Work closely with our business stakeholders: during the analysis, you form a clear picture of the business processes and requirements. You translate these requirements into Data Models.
• Engage with application owners and source data owners to draw out functional data flows. You possess sufficient technical baggage and are able to ask critical questions.
• Gather and manipulate  data using tools like SQL, Phyton, Databricks, 
• Create dashbaords, reports and visualisations using tools like Power BI.
• Present  insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, actionable manne .
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and ssupport business questions with data-backed answers.
• You describe, plan and organize functional tests in a concrete test plan and participate in the functional tests yourself.

Hard skills

 Must have:

• Proven experience in Functional Analysis & DWH modeling role
• Strong analytical skills
• Proactive (hands-on) approach
• Able to work in an autonomous way
• Excellent communication/negotiation skills – Able to deal with stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of SQL,  Spark, Phyton
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, …)
• Ability to Interpret and communicate insights from large datasets
• Experience in Agile methodology

Good to have:

• A previous experience in utilities market is a plus
• Knowledge of technical systems like SAP ISU,  SalesForce,
• Knowledge of Agile tools like Azure Devops
• Familiar with Data platform concepts preferebly in AWS landscape
• Experience with Dataiku
• Hands-on, curious about Data science

• Good ability to translate business requirements into a technical solution with good design & supportability
•  Eager to understand and work on business logics particularly related to pricing
• Able to understand and address complex analytical challenges
•  Flexible to work on multiple topics whenever required to support business as close as possible
•  Good communication skills, especially when engaging with different stakeholders
•  A team player and ability to work with global teams effectively
•  Ability to work under pressure and dealing with constraints (especially end of months closings)
•  Strong discipline in documentation

Education and professional background

• Bachelor's or master's Degree

• 4-6 years of experience as a data analyst or similar position

Language

• Fluent in either Dutch or French
• Fluent in English

Travel

Travel is not required structurally ; occasional travel in the context of a project might be required
