For our headquarters in Madrid, we are looking for a  Data & AI Engineering Lead to architect, build, and evolve our operational data perimeter supporting Energy Trading activities. This role is central to transforming raw operational data into reliable, actionable intelligence through modern cloud‑native data engineering, analytics, and AI‑driven solutions.

Mission

You will lead the design and implementation of scalable ETL pipelines, data models, analytics platforms, and dashboards using AWS technologies. Beyond technical execution, you will champion an AI‑oriented approach—identifying opportunities to apply machine learning, automation, and intelligent insights to improve decision‑making and operational efficiency.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role requiring deep expertise in cloud data engineering, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders, traders, and IT teams. You will shape the data strategy, ensure data quality and reliability, and deliver high‑impact analytical capabilities that empower the business.

Functions

  • Own and lead the design and development of the Energy Trading data platform and operational data perimeter while leading and mentoring  data engineers, analysts, and developers involved in data initiatives.
  • Design and manage cloud-native data architectures and infrastructure, leveraging IaC to deliver scalable, secure, high-performance, and cost-effective data solutions.

  • Build and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance AWS-based data pipelines and architectures. Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, security, and compliance across the full data lifecycle.
  • Develop data models, curated datasets, dashboards, and analytics solutions that support Trading, Risk, and Operations.
  • Drive the adoption of AI/ML solutions for forecasting, automation, optimization, and anomaly detection.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful data solutions.
  • Oversee the reliability, availability, and performance of the cloud data platform.

Minimum requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or cloud data architecture
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Step Functions)
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT design, data modeling, and distributed data processing
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering and analytics
  • Experience building dashboards using tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, Grafana, or similar
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows and AI‑driven solution design

Committed to inclusion
