Context:
Engie as a data-driven company is looking to maximize the exploitation of its data to propose new offers, reduce operational risk and increase team efficiency to better serve customers.
One of the strategic projects within the B2B sector is to capture and monitor consistent key indicators related to supply activities across countries. This requires the establishment of a common data asset and governance framework to expose and report on cross-functional data.
Purpose of the service:
The objective is to extend a platform called "MDP" based on robust and scalable Big Data technologies. This platform will be capable of handling a substantial volume of data in different B2B local entities. Its primary goal is to capture diverse metrics on power & gaz (allocation, consumptions, point of delivery….).
This platform is deployed in France/Belgium/USA already and the aim is to extend the scope to other B2B countries. MDP core team has mainly 2 missions :
- Build and improve the common framework (functional and pure technical component)
- Support the deployment of MDP in different countries.
The senior developer's role in this project will involve designing and implementing the following platform components:
- Ingesting data
- Processing and normalizing the data.
- Distributing the data to different stakeholders.
- Build and improve common framework including monitoring, CI/CD, testing, performance, resiliency, development practices and code quality…
In addition to their technical responsibilities, the developer will ensure compliance with Group guidelines regarding internal framework usage and architecture. They will also collaborate with other project stakeholders to promote these guidelines and propose common capabilities for the platform.
The team is primarily located in Paris, but occasional travel to Lyon and Brussels may be expected.
Role:
The main activities include:
- Collecting, understanding, challenging, and refining business requirements and opportunities.
- Designing solutions following architecture guidelines.
- Leading development activities and contributing in a senior/expert role. Development activities involve building and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code that adheres to high standards of software quality, design, and testing principles, while delivering solutions on time and within budget.
- Supporting continuous improvement of services and applications by identifying bottlenecks, bugs, and providing solutions.
- Delivering production-ready services to users with a focus on achieving the highest level of satisfaction.
- Supporting the production phase, including delivering monitoring and alerting tools to minimize support impact during the development phase.
- Writing and updating technical documentation in English and making it available to the team and partners.
- Providing effective and timely communication to all relevant teams.
