Context

As a Carbon Credits Originator at ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (S&EM), you will play a key role in scaling one of the most strategic markets for the energy transition. From prospecting to due diligence, and from contract structuring to portfolio management, you will contribute to building and managing a pipeline of high-quality carbon credits that support ENGIE and its clients in reaching their climate objectives.

📍 Possible locations: France (Paris) or Belgium (Brussels).


Your Mission

1. Build and grow your portfolio of project developers

  • Establish strong relationships with reputable project developers worldwide.

  • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements, long-term off-take contracts, and spot purchases, with the full backing of ENGIE S&EM.

  • Develop innovative deal structures with embedded optionality to maximize portfolio value and profitability.

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities through calls, meetings, events, and digital platforms, leading negotiations through to closing.

2. Act as carbon expert and sustainability advisor

  • Serve as the internal go-to expert for carbon projects, certification frameworks, and methodologies.

  • Support the sales team in advising clients on low-carbon and Net Zero strategies, facilitating the implementation of tailored transactions.

  • Design and structure bespoke offerings based on certified carbon projects and innovative market-based solutions.

3. Collaborate across ENGIE

  • Work closely with Sales, B2B, Market Access Trading, Research, Regulatory, ESG, and Marketing teams to deliver commercial success and new product development.

  • Ensure transactions comply with ENGIE’s risk and governance frameworks while meeting P&L objectives.


What we are looking for

Hard skills

  • Proven track record of closing complex deals, ideally with experience working directly in developing countries.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate sustainability trends (Scope 1–3 emissions, Net Zero commitments, ESG frameworks).

Soft skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, results-driven, motivated by impact and growth.

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to operate across diverse business functions.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Environment, Business, Sustainability, or Energy-related fields.

  • At least 5 years of experience in carbon project origination, financing, or operations, ideally gained with a developer, auditor, or another carbon market participant.

Languages

  • Fluent English is required.

  • French, Spanish, or another language is a strong asset.
