Context :

The Credit risk Analyst role is part of EC Risk Europe, the Risk Division of GEMS in Europe and will be managing credit risk resulting from the Energy Management, Global Energy & B2B Supply activities in Europe. Main responsibility is to overview the creditworthiness of the counterparties in these portfolios and manage the credit risk exposure accordingly (credit risk mandate, overdue monitoring…). The economic environment is also key and needs also to be followed.

 

 

Role:

 

Credit Analysis

  • In-depth credit analysis of European clients (analysis of the financials, sector analysis, market & environment, peers and SWOT analysis)
  • Rating recommendation and validation in ECR rating tool
  • Recommendation including credit conditions on the request submitted
  • Communication of any relevant negative news on clients
  • Monitoring and follow up of the Client’s credit exposure on clients and effective implementation or monitoring of credit mitigants

 

Contribute to the EC Risk Europe risk management governance

  • Support the update the EC Risk Europe policy and sections related to credit risk.
  • Support the review the credit delegation scheme of EC Risk Europe
  • Support the presentation of the related charts / dashboard in EM or Supply Risk Committees
  • Support on ad-hoc analysis and projects within the Finance & Risk teams.

 

Key activities carried out by the Credit Risk function include:

  • Redaction and follow-up of the GEMS Risk Policy
  • Review of Supply contracts and related credit clauses
  • Liaising with external credit insurers  and/or Brokers
  • Communicating with Legal department on contracts and collaterals

Education and professional background:

  • Education level: Master degree under preparation
  • Less than 2 years of relevant experience in a credit risk position, or relevant finance or accounting activity (ideally in a trading or banking environment)

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English: written & oral
  • Fluent in French: written & oral

 

Travels:

  • Seldom
