We are developing a pipeline of PV Solar projects in Ireland. Three of our projects are in construction with a further two projects planned to commence construction late in 2025. These projects are located across Galway, Limerick and Offaly within a radius of approximately 100 km.

 

About the role

We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Supervisor based in Ireland - Site oriented. This is an 18 month fixed term contract role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

 

The Health and Safety Supervisor will monitor and supervise projects under construction to ensure they are delivered to the highest standard of Health, Safety and Environmental control and in compliance with the HSE strategy documented in Group and Renewable and Flex Global Business Unit guidelines and as documented in the construction contracts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • ENGIE's representative on the construction site on HSE issues, coordinating activities on health, environment, and safety issues 
  • Provide support to construction teams on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management. 
  • Verify that the contracting companies observe and apply the indications contained in the project safety plan; this includes preparing and keeping up to date of the site safety induction for all contractors and visitors 
  • Ensures that companies on site and all contractors and sub-contractors are compliant with HSE rules imposed by Law and ENGIE requirements, and constantly communicates with the H&S roles within the ENGIE organization and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) 
  • Collaborates with the PSCS to check the suitability of each company's safety plans and its scrupulous application on site. 
  • Supports the PSCS in adapting the project safety plan in relation to the evolution of the works and any changes discussed on site with the aim of improving the work 
  • Promotes risk analysis (including last minute risk assessment) for each new activity or process and for each process that must be adapted from what was planned 

 

Key Requirements

  • Experience of carrying out a Health and Safety role ideally in the process and/or construction industry 
  • Experience of implementing the requirements of regulations equivalent to UK CDM Regulations in Republic of Ireland  
  • An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification is essential. 
  • A recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualification is desirable. 
  • Experience holding the PSDP role (desirable) 
  • Experience of Health and Safety auditing 
  • A good working knowledge of Republic of Ireland Health and Safety legislation, principles and practice 
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations regarding waste management; 
  • Construction site experience carried out in the renewable energy sector
