Contract Manager – Pumped Hydro Power Station

At ENGIE, we are extending the life of one of the UK's most iconic energy assets. Dinorwig Power Station in North Wales is a 1.8 GW pumped hydro facility that plays a vital role in balancing the grid. We need a Contract Manager to help us deliver this ambitious programme safely and effectively.

You will join a site-based Project Team delivering the largest capital investment in First Hydro's history. This is your opportunity to shape outcomes on complex, long-term contracts that directly support the energy transition.

Summary of what you will do

- Advise and support the Project Team on all contractual matters during execution of the Dinorwig Station Replanting and Generator Motor Transformer contracts.

- Manage claims, variations, and negotiations with contractors, leading discussions where required.

- Certify provisional sums and oversee payment processes in line with contractual terms.

- Coordinate contractual risk analysis and identify opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

- Monitor compliance by all parties and flag issues early to protect project outcomes.

- Support budgetary monitoring and reporting against contract payments and overall project expenditure.

- Liaise with engineering, legal, finance, procurement, operations, maintenance, and business development teams.

What you will bring to the role

- At least 3 years of relevant experience in contract or commercial management within an engineering, industrial, or construction environment.

- Experience in power generation or large-scale infrastructure projects is a strong advantage.

- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Clear communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

- A positive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Comfort working across multiple teams and stakeholder groups in a dynamic environment.

- Availability for occasional national and international travel for contractor negotiations.

Location

Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis, North Wales. This is mainly an on-site role based with the Project Team at the station, however we may consider hybrid working (min 3 days per week) for the right candidate.

For internal applicants, please note this role will be on an ENGIE contract.

What We Offer

- A competitive salary package reflecting your experience and expertise.

- The chance to work on a landmark, decade-long programme with real strategic impact.

- A diverse range of missions spanning risk, negotiation, compliance, and financial oversight.

- A collaborative and friendly work environment within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

- Career development opportunities within ENGIE's global Renewables and Flexible Power business.

- Flexibility where possible, with a focus on work-life balance and employee wellbeing.
