What You Can Expect
As Commercial Advisor - Structured Operations within Commercial Operations of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA) in Houston, you will be responsible for day-to-day validation of settlements with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and for validation of complex structured agreements; and for developing and maintaining associated necessary related data sources, custom code and processes.
- Reconcile variances between projected and actual settlement values
- Conduct thorough analysis of settlement data and coordinate with Asset Managers to enhance optimization of Renewable and BESS assets
- Assist with onboarding of new complex structured transactions associated with Renewable generation and BESS assets
- Act as a steward of Renewable and BESS operational data within the framework of Engie’s data governance policies and coordinate with the Data & Digital group to maximize quality, accessibility and usability of the data
- Build custom SQL, Power BI reporting, analysis and settlement tools leveraging the Common Data Hub environment (ENGIE’s AWS cloud infrastructure)
- Create customized reports to align with internal and counterparty specifications and oversee their timely dissemination and updates
- Manage calculation templates for Power Purchase Agreements
- Review and comment on proposed complex structured agreements, to ensure clarity in calculational requirements and consistency with underlying ISO settlements
- Ensure invoices are validated and internally distributed in time to meet deadlines
- Perform analytical research to determine root cause of settlement discrepancies and coordinate with counterparties to agree on resolution
- Ensure ISO/counterparty settlements are captured in the transaction management system correctly
- Assist other departments with financial and market analysis for various projects, as requested
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
- Use strong written communication skills to develop and maintain documentation
- Coordinate with IT to enhance and test settlement systems and processes
- Carry out other duties and analysis as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in an analytical field such as economics, finance, accounting, engineering, data science, renewable energy, sustainability, or a related discipline
- Adanced proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Python and cloud infrastructures (AWS or Azure) are highly desirable
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, must be able to exhibit solid understanding of Excel formulas and pivot tables
- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant role
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and good attention to detail with the ability to organize and analyze large quantities of data
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills to complete tasks in accordance with internal and external deadlines
- Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong written communication skills and experience in preparing comprehensive process documentation
- Strong analytical thinking, professional presentation skills, and the ability to function effectively within project teams
- Exhibit effective oral communication skills, Microsoft Teams video conferencing, phone, and in-person communications
- Self-driven and motivated team player with a demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new systems and efficiently manage time-sensitive deliverables

This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; working 3 days in the office

Compensation
Salary Range: $99,000 – $151,800 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
