What You Can Expect

As our Project Assistant – Civil Engineering and Geographical Information Science (GIS) Support Intern, in Columbus, OH. You will be responsible for supporting ENGIE’s Capital Projects team, concentrated on lifecycle and expansion projects for The Ohio State University’s Utility System. Every day you will assist the capital projects team as assigned. Areas of possible work assignments include job site visits during active construction, monitoring progress, developing reports and organizing data. Additional assignments could include collecting and compiling spatial data into a relational database, assisting in the development of an imagery database, and building custom maps to assist project team and project development. You will report to the GIS Analyst. The internship work term will be approximately June 3, 2024-August 30, 2024.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You are pursuing a major in civil engineering or geographical information science

  • You have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • You are a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • You can handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS Software
  • You have strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal and time management skills

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis;
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license; might drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 50% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • 10 hours per week minimum; additional hours/weeks may be available based on business needs and will be discussed in advance with your supervisor
  • Work environment characteristics include the access of construction sites, under variable outdoor conditions
  • Visits to work sites include mandatory personal protective equipment as required and supplied by ENGIE

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $21.00 to $23.00 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
