What You Can Expect

As our Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic, at The Ohio State University, you will be responsible for the installation, technical analysis and maintenance of utility systems including but not limited to steam, condensate, compressed air, natural gas, heating hot water, chilled water, power generation and associated components and mechanical equipment. Every day you will perform routine preventative maintenance tasks and develop parts lists and repair plan.

The Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic will serve as the repair team lead who maintains equipment repair records and a safe working environment and you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You possess a high school diploma or G.E.D
  • You have a minimum (2) two years of experience in applicable mechanical repairs or completion of Mechanical Technician 2 training requirements
  • You will test installed equipment for proper assembly and compliance with specifications
  • You have experience performing major overhauls of mechanical equipment including rebuilding gear boxes, fans, pumps, and valves
  • You can direct and instruct other staff in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, use of tools and shop equipment
  • You can develop material requirements and parts lists, and support inventory management
  • You have experience maintaining equipment service records
  • You can read blueprints, O&M manuals, diagrams and sketches
  • You have developed maintenance schedules and performed equipment status checks and predictive and preventive maintenance activities on system equipment
  • You can fabricate and modify parts by boring, milling, cutting, threading and fitting
  • You will assist contract laborers as needed
  • You can maintain safe and clean working conditions in accordance with local, state, and federal rules & regulations
  • You will perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license; you will drive company vehicle
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • This position is subject to 24-hour calls

 

 

Compensation

Hourly: $27.45 – $39.42 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
