Job Purpose

The Team Leader of Civil, Preventive & Corrective Maintenance position shall posses hands-on experience to handle works related to the all levels of Preventative and Corrective Maintenance activities.

This consists of Depot, Stations & Infrastructure Assets (listed below). In this position the Team Leader shall be able to undertake repair /remedial maintenance, preventive and corrective maintenance of the Dubai Tram Network, consists of  Via duct 2.3km, Marina Bridges, 1 & 3, On-Track / Off track civil works, Main Depot Complex, Stations Nos. 11, (Technical Building), Operations Control Building, Depot Maintenance workshop, Washing Machines Buildings, Drivers Building, Water Plant Building, External Storage Building, Warehouses, Main and Secondary Entrances,  internal roads, drainage system (Manholes & Chambers), Car Parks and Landscape areas.

The Civil Team Leader shall requires knowledge of facilities maintenance, repairs, rehabilitation and remedial works experiences, knowledge of using different types of construction repair materials and chemicals, tools, equipment and machines being used, policies and procedures, and  techniques. This position reports to the Civil Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and giving guidance to a workgroup of Civil Technicians and subcontractors to carry out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications in building structures of stations, depots, technical building, car parks, internal road and elevated viaduct
  • Supervising, overseeing and assisting the Civil Technicians on the field carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on buildings and structures including grouting, chipping, scaffolding, sealant insulating and general structural repairs and finishes
  • Following the appropriate procedures and instructions of maintenance to ensure compliance with the requirements and safe system of work
  • Assisting subordinates with the job familiarization and to provide training and assessment were required
  • Producing and maintaining accurate records of building structure maintenance works accomplished and other information using the computerized maintenance management system
  • Assisting the Snr. Civil engineer or other technical support staff to implement asset configuration change
  • Ensuring the maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition
  • Performing and carrying out duties as instructed and directed by the Snr. Civil engineer
  • Performing shift and emergency duties when required.

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of read and understand construction /As-built drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the facilities management service.
  • Knowledge of facilities management and maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, and safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment of the custodial service.
  • Ability to monitor and professionally execute work schedules to ensure efficient use of personnel.
  • Ability to solve problems on an immediate basis.
  • Ability to train and supervise lower-level employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Qualifications

Minimum completion  of  three  (3)  years  of  Civil Diploma from a recognized institute or college, or  10-12 years’ work experience in Civil, maintenance  of Railways, Metro, Complex Building structures and associated facilities with emphasis  on  operation, construction, remedial / repair and maintenance in the Gulf region. 

 

Other Requirements

Minimum 3 years of working experience in FM sector and additional qualification and experiences may substitute to an added advantage for this position during selection.
