Position Purpose
As Power Origination Leader, your mission will be to lead the origination, negotiation, and structuring of PPAs with Market Participants and contracts with other relevant counterparties, including Generators, Qualified Suppliers, Traders and Qualified Users, while procuring qualified supply portfolio needs.
Your Impact
You will contribute directly to our mission by performing key responsibilities such as:
Identify, develop and close coverage contracts in accordance with business needs.
Design customized commercial structures, including long-term renewable physical PPAs, long and mid-term thermal physical PPAs, hedging strategies and risk-management solutions.
Maintain expert-level understanding of MEM, pricing trends, and regulatory frameworks.
Ensure physical hedging through PPAs for B2B supply portfolio to meet regulatory requirements and minimize price exposure.
Collaborate with legal, asset development, renewable teams, generators, internal risk control, market intelligence and portfolio management teams.
Requirements
Education and Experience
A pertinent university degree; MBA is advantageous. Bachelor in finance, science, economics, administration, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar.
More than 2 years of experience in a comparable position and more than 5 years of total work experience.
Technical Skills
Excellent understanding of the Mexican electricity market and its regulation; knowledge of energy products and services, risk management, trading products, financial markets culture and day-to-day operations; strong quantitative and financial modeling capabilities; understanding of pricing and structuring schemes.
Experience interacting with trading desks and hedging tools such as forwards, swaps and options; renewable project pricing analysis; familiarity with ETRM systems and follow-up tools; understanding of carbon markets, renewable certificates and sustainability frameworks.
