Mission of the role:
The Finance Sphere Project Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing the implementation of the Sphere Program within GBS Mexico, ensuring adoption of global process standards and alignment with Global Process Owners (GPOs). This role is hands‑on and drives the end‑to‑end execution of project activities, working closely with local operational teams, GBS stakeholders, and global GPO communities to ensure readiness, deployment, stabilization, and continuous improvement of the Sphere model. The purpose of the role is to enable the successful transition to standardized global processes, ensure operational continuity, mitigate risks, and build the necessary capabilities within local teams to operate under the Sphere framework.
Your impact:
As Finance Sphere Project Lead you will directly contribute to the objectives of the area by participating in key activities such as:
- Project Portfolio Leadership & Execution (Hands-On Implementation)
- Lead day-to-day implementation of the project portfolio, specially the Sphere program activities in close collaboration with the GPO teams.
- Coordinate and execute process mapping, gap assessments, data collection, UAT, and deployment activities.
- Actively support solution validation, issue resolution, testing cycles, and readiness assessments.
- Monitor project deliverables, risks, dependencies, and action items to ensure completion on time and in quality.
- Prepare project materials: documentation, deployment kits, SOPs, status reports, dashboards.
- Lead and govern cross functional project teams to ensure strong engagement, active participation and the on time delivery of all project deliverables.
- Support hyper-care and stabilization phases, ensuring issues are tracked, escalated, and resolved
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Serve as the key interface between Global Process Owners, GBS local leadership, Finance teams, and operational managers.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and alignment meetings between global and local stakeholders.
- Ensure feedback loops are established so local constraints are understood and global standards are respected.
- Influence and drive adoption of Sphere standards within local operations.
- Change Management & Capability Building
- Partner with Change Management teams to support communications, stakeholder alignment, and training initiatives.
- Identify operational impacts and help define mitigation actions to ensure a smooth transition.
- Support the redefinition of roles, responsibilities, and skills required for Sphere deployment.
- Strengthen process discipline and governance in the post-deployment environment.
- Operational Readiness & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure local teams are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and documentation required for successful process execution.
- Drive continuous improvements aligned with Sphere principles and global best practices.
- Monitor key operational KPIs and partner with process owners to refine performance and solve recurring issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and optimization of finance processes.
- Data Management and Quality Governance to ensure integrity, traceability and information quality.
Requirements:
- Academic Background: Finance bachelor degree or related with PMP / Scrum / Lean Six Sigma Certification desirable.
- Professional Experience: +5 years of experience out of those, at least +2 years working with global stakeholders and in matrixed organizations. Hands-on experience leading process transformation, ERP / system deployments, or global standardization initiatives. Experience working in Finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R).
- Languages: Advance Spanish and English level.
- Technical Skills: Strong project management capabilities (planning, tracking, risk management). Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand end-to-end finance processes. Ability to translate global guidelines into practical, local implementation plans. Proficiency in Microsoft package and project collaboration tools. Knowledge of SAP Finance module
- Soft Skills: Execution-oriented, willing to dive into operational details. Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills (global + local). Structured, organized, and disciplined. Comfort working in ambiguity, fast pace, and with multiple priorities.
