Position Purpose
As Financial Advisor - AIFA, your mission will be to support the valuation and risk analysis of new projects, develop financial models, and contribute to the structuring and execution of M&A and project financing transactions for ENGIE in Mexico and Latin America.
Your Impact
You will contribute directly to our mission by performing key responsibilities such as:
Assist in the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing documents for medium to large transactions, following ENGIE Group project finance best practices.
Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions, ensuring accuracy, consistency with Group guidelines, and appropriate sensitivity analysis for investment files.
Manage internal approval processes for new economic commitments and associated financing arrangements.
Contribute to financial due diligence for M&A opportunities, including coordination with external financial advisors and relevant internal stakeholders.
Advise internal teams on risk allocation, bankability of contractual terms, project structuring, and return optimization throughout the business development process, while ensuring compliance with investment guidelines, methodology, H&S rules, and ethical standards.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or an MBA are considered a plus.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a leading audit firm, project finance, M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or within a corporation in the power or infrastructure sector. Minimum 5 years of total professional experience.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of financial, accounting, and tax concepts, including CAPM, IFRS, and financial statement analysis. Experience in Energy Services activities and in financing gas-fired, wind, or solar power generation projects is considered a plus.
Solid understanding of Independent Power Producer contractual and commercial structures. Advanced expertise in developing and using detailed Excel-based financial models, including VBA programming, and ability to coordinate banks, consultants, lawyers, management, business development, legal, technical, insurance, tax, and accounting stakeholders.
Key Competencies
Flexible team player with strong analytical and quantitative skills, problem-solving ability, leadership, common sense, interpersonal credibility, and the ability to prioritize, manage complexity, multitask, and work effectively under pressure in a multicultural environment. Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory; French or Portuguese is a plus.
