What You Can Expect

As our Civil Engineering Advisor, you will serve as the technical authority for Civil Engineering within the Distributed Solar and Storage department. In this role, you will demonstrate confident decision-making abilities backed by substantial experience. This role will oversee all aspects of Civil design and site layouts for ground-mounted solar Photovoltaic and battery energy storage installations across ENIGE Northam. Your work will be crucial for installation contractors, geotechnical firms, permitting authorities, clients, and system owners as part of the comprehensive design of renewable energy assets. Collaboration with various departments to develop, design, and optimize projects will be key. This position can sit in Chicago, IL (preferred) or Oakland, CA, reporting to the Manager of Civil Engineering.

 

 

  • Develop and maintain Civil engineering standards for the Distributed Generation team
  • Perform quality control for all Civil drawings, obtaining or maintaining Professional Engineering licenses as required
  • Oversee Civil design for multiple projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with codes and industry standards
  • Advise origination and preconstruction teams on site suitability and system design, using satellite imagery and field assessments
  • Manage Civil design and construction activities, including selecting equipment, designing access roads, and auditing contractors for compliance

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience role where you performed Civil design tasks throughout the design and construction process
  • You are proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • You have experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in photovoltaic solar arrays and/or battery energy storage systems
  • You are proficient in land development and stormwater management design
  • You have the ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office
  • Must be available to travel domestically  up to 25% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record use of company vehicle, ability to drive to site locations
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
